Record-breaking Bollywood film draws massive crowds at theatres nationwide
Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan's New Film Crosses ₹800 Crore Worldwide in Opening Week
Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster crossed the ₹800 crore worldwide mark within its opening week, establishing it as the fastest Indian film to achieve this milestone and reinforcing King Khan's dominance at the box office.
The action-thriller, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Atlee Kumar, opened to packed theatres across India and in major international markets including the UAE, USA, UK, and Australia. The film collected ₹180 crore on its opening day alone — the third-highest opening day in Indian cinema history.
"This is beyond our wildest expectations," producer Gauri Khan said. "The audience has embraced this film with such love. Shah Rukh's connection with his fans is truly magical."
Trade analysts say the film's pan-India appeal, with dubbed versions performing equally strongly in South Indian markets, is a defining feature of its success. The Telugu version alone contributed ₹120 crore to the first-week collection.
SRK, 58, has defied age and the occasional box office miss to emerge as one of the most bankable stars in Indian cinema. His performance has drawn universally rave reviews, with critics highlighting his screen presence in action sequences choreographed by South Korean stunt directors.
The film has also broken records on streaming pre-bookings, with the OTT rights reportedly sold for a record ₹200 crore before theatrical release.
